Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?

DIY Self-Esteem is a step-by-step course that will help you to get to know and like yourself, so that you can become the happy, healthy, confident you that you’ve always dreamed of being.

Whether it’s your nose, your shyness, or your inability to say ‘no’ that drives you mad, DIY Self-Esteem will help you see that, actually, you’re kind of all right. In fact, you’re more than that. You’re downright awesome.

Self esteem isn’t a luxury reserved for everyone but you.

You deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin, and I’d like to show you that that’s possible. Really!

I’ve been on a similar journey myself. I used to be think I was rubbish, and wonder how everyone else was just so… OK with themselves. I thought maybe I’d missed something. Like, that day in school when they handed out the guide to being confident.

But I had to work it out for myself. And this book will walk you through the process I used for building confidence.

You’re NOT alone, and it CAN get better!

And it’s not just the two of us either. On my journey I reached out to successful people (you know, the ones who just seem all round great all the time) to ask about their self esteem issues. I ended up interviewing them about their own journey, and what I learned helped me so much.

Don’t believe me? Let me show you!

Can this book help me even if I have X or Y?

Yes! So many of us can’t see how we could possibly ever like ourselves because of X or Y but in the course you’ll find out how Amy Purdy came to appreciate losing her legs and how Achmat Hassiem turned being attacked by a shark into a positive. The course will help you to appreciate your flaws and who knows, maybe you’ll even end up grateful for them.

What's the book like?

It’s not any of that serious-face here’s-some-psychology-theory-and-a-load-of-lines-for-you-to-write stuff, if that’s what you’re worried about. It’s written in normal, everyday language, with plenty of examples, and a gorgeous design.

Oh and you get to do it in the comfort of your own bedroom. No scary counsellors or teachers. It’s just you and the course, snuggled up with a hot chocolate, a pen, and a notebook on your bed. Couldn’t be easier.

What My Readers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from me, let my readers do the talking!

“It turns out most of my problems stem from not liking myself in some way. I’d never really got that before because it’s not as if I hate myself, but covering it in the course made me realise that I do tend to devalue myself a lot and that makes it harder to be myself around other people. ”

Katie

“This whole program has helped me to start liking myself more. Really. My smiles are more real. I feel like I’m less stressed talking to people, and sometimes I talk and I feel like “is that me?” Yes, that’s me, and then my whole inner being smiles. :) I never felt those thoughts before and I finally began to feel it and that’s just an awesome feeling.”

Sara

“The course has been excellent. I’ve worked through it once, and on bad days I pick a section to review instead of getting caught up in self-loathing. It’s great to know that the course is there. I hope it is a success for you – you deserve it.”

Who am I?

A couple of years ago, I thought I was rubbish. I constantly compared myself to other people, I tried to figure out what they might think of me, and I never trusted myself to be right about anything. Once, I even had a list of things to change about myself by the summer. I thought that if I could just ‘fix’ all the not-so-good parts of myself, I’d suddenly be really confident.

But no matter which parts of me I tweaked, I didn’t feel any better about myself. It wasn’t until I started to really get to know myself and appreciate my flaws that I started to like myself. Now I want to show you how to do exactly the same thing and learn to like yourself just the way you are.
